THE TORTOISE AND THE HARE

The Hare was once boasting of his speed before the other animals. "I have never yet been beaten," said he, "when I put forth my full speed. I challenge any one here to race with me."

     The Tortoise said quietly, "I accept your challenge."

     "That is a good joke," said the Hare; "I could dance round you all the way."

     "Keep your boasting till you've won," answered the Tortoise. "Shall we race?"

     So a course was fixed and a start was made. The Hare darted almost out of sight at once, but soon stopped and, to show his contempt for the Tortoise, lay down to have a nap. The Tortoise plodded on and plodded on, and when the Hare awoke from his nap, he saw the Tortoise just near the winning-post and could not run up in time to save the race.

     Then the Tortoise said: "Slow but steady progress wins the race."

 

THE MISTAKE

Giancarlo went about his day as always which included his usual business meetings along with other encounters yet through it all, Joanna was never far from his thoughts and though he did mention it to one of his best friends as a casual encounter; he sensed something. This not even in reference to sexuality on that specific night or even necessarily that very week but an emotional attachment of the kind that went beyond getting together for the standard drink or two with a meal. It being that which would make him occupy himself with her in a way which perhaps did not include love but at least tender feelings.

Giancarlo, however was one whose experience with the ladies varied to the point that even this would not have had any value for its novelty yet there was one aspect about her which did make her seem as if a fresh breeze. This being the possibility of fantasy that went beyond what his had been till that point. Naturally, this flight of fancy in part inspired by the diary's content which he directly associated with Joanna.

Giancarlo had a relatively uneventful day and as he got home, he immediately started getting ready to go out and meet Joanna. Regarding this aspect, there was nothing which differed from the way he would have gotten ready for any other outing with a lady; he wished to get to know on much friendlier terms. Giancarlo as always, being methodical in choosing his attire for the evening which though elegant did present itself with a certain casualty about it in just being nice. A Bordeaux shirt with a pair of light blue jeans to be topped by a blazer which he might wear should his mood be up to it along with the temperature not being too high; was what his taste selected for the evening.

From the text chosen, the text is interesting to be read because it contains variety of sentences type. It concludes simple sentences type, compound sentence type and also complex sentences type. So, the readers can feel more interesting while reading the text.
